Two Men Cured Of HIV In US?

Two patients with HIV have been cured of the virus after after undergoing stem cell transplants as treatment for cancer.

Doctors warned that it is too early to call it an absolute cure, as the patients have been off their treatments for just 15 weeks and seven weeks. The study was led by Dr. Timothy Henrich of Harvard Medical School and Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. ”They are doing very well,” Henrich said. “While these results are exciting, they do not yet indicate that the men have been cured. Only time will tell.”

Reports say that more time is needed to ensure that it is truly gone and not just hiding in their systems.
