Actress, Bukky Wright Loses N40m To ConMen

EFCC arrests man with 30 ATM cards and 8 signed cheques

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has arrested one Kingsley Mudi over alleged ATM fraud. He was picked up at about 11 pm on August 2, 2013 at Fidelity Bank ATM on Airport Road, Warri, Delta State following an intelligence report.

At the point of arrest, 30 ATM cards of different banks with which he allegedly withdrew a total sum of five hundred and fifty thousand naira (N550, 000) were found in his possession.  Eight signed UBA cheques belonging to sundry persons were also found on him. Kingsley Mudi, who claimed to be a Disc Jockey and an operator of a barbing salon, has volunteered useful information.

He will be charged to court as soon as investigation is concluded.

Domestic Violence Law;Beat your wife in Lagos and go to jail

There's a new Domestic Violence Law in Lagos State, and it states that if you beat your wife, you will go to Jail. It is now an offense for any man to hit his wife.

According to the deputy governor of Lagos State, Hon Joke Orelope-Adefulire, the Domestic Violence Law is made not only to protect women who are most times the target of violence in the home but also to safeguard the interest of men, children, servants, maids and everyone who may be a victim of domestic violence.

In case of man/woman abuse issues, it does not matter whether there's a valid contracted marriage between the victim and the perpetrator of the act as long as they are living together in a home setting. Continue...

Here's what happens when there's a case of domestic violence.
1. Remove the abuser from the home pending when the abuse is corrected
2. Or remove the complainant from the residence and put in a protective home
3. Provision of financial assistance by the state via the Office of the Public Defender/Legal Aid Council to      victims of abuse who maybe financially unable to seek redress in court.
4. The court can issue warrant of arrest and remand order

Man uses fake bank alert to steal N5m

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has arrested a suspected fraudster, Wale Olaide, aka Wale Dollar, for using a fake bank credit alert to defraud a bureau de change operator, Abdulhamid Abubakar, of N5m.

EFCC’s Head, Media and Publicity, Wilson Uwujaren, said the suspect, who was an expert in defrauding unsuspecting victims through fraudulent bank credit alerts, contacted Abubakar’s younger brother, Hashim, also a bureau de change operator based in Lome, Togo, that he wanted to purchase N5m equivalent in CFA.He said, “Olaide requested for his (Hashim) Nigerian bank account to enable him to pay in the naira equivalent. Hashim asked Abubakar to send his First Bank account details to Olaide.

“Abubakar sent his account details and later received an alert supposedly from his bank that N5m had been credited to his account. Upon receiving the alert, Abubakar informed his brother, who in turn released the

Globacom drops Ramsey Noah, Rita Dominic, Uche Jombo, others as ambassadors

Globacom yesterday dropped their Nollywood ambassadors with the exception of four people - Chioma Chukwuka, Ini Edo, Funke Akindele and Desmond Elliot. 29 year old farmer admits killing roomie over #4,000

A 29 year old farmer, Jammus Ibrahim, has confessed before a magistrate court in Ilorin that he killed and buried his roommate, Sahagari Jubirl over his refusal to return N4, 000 he kept with him. Woman beats three-year-old girl to death for vomitting

Miss Africa contestant found stabbed to death next to her daughter

Former Miss Africa contestant, 29 year old Linah Keza was stabbed to death on Wednesday in her home in the presence her 3 year old daughter, Holly.Neighbours who responded to her call for help found the Rwanda-born model in a pool of blood in her  flat next to her crying daughter.

Linah's off/on boyfriend and father of her child, club promoter David Kikawa, 38,has been arrested in connection with her death. According to neighbours, David was a regular visitor at her flat until about two weeks ago. They told police he was jealous and possessive and frequently fought with Linah.

Linah's home had a panic button fixed when she alerted the police about cases of domestic violence.RIP, Linah!
