Woman sets 11 year old girl ablaze for stealing meat

Doctors at the General Hospital, Gbagada, Lagos, southwest Nigeria, are seriously battling to save the life of an 11-year old girl, Ita Bassey-Eno, who was allegedly set ablaze by the woman she lives with, Mrs Nkese Iroakazi, a nurse at a hospital in Surulere.

Iroakazi was alleged to have poured kerosene on Bassey-Eno before lighting a match stick to set her ablaze after the girl was said to have stolen a piece of meat from the pot.

Witnesses said the girl ran out of their apartment at  7, Adeniran Ogunsanya Street, Surulere, unto to the main road with fire all over her body as she cried for help from passers-by to

Actress Chika Ike Officially Announces The End Of Her marriage

Actress Chika Ike has taken to social networks to announce that her divorce has been finalised today. The star posted a message on her social network saying, "Hi Fabs! Thank you all for your love and support over the years.... It's been an emotional journey and I want to officially announce to you guys that the court has granted me a divorce...I am now officially divorced. Thanks."
In a recent interview, Chika opened up on why she was divorcing her husband saying, “Well, you will get to a point in your life when you have to stop lying to yourself. You have to come to terms with your person and tell yourself the truth.
If it is something that is working, it is working and if it is not, it is not. I believe in something, I believe happiness is everything to me so I just had to take that decision,because it wasn’t working and I just had to tell my self the truth.”

Senate approves marriage for 'under aged children'

The Senate of Federal republic of Nigeria has approved the marriage of under-aged children irrespective of their age in the country. This new law will proscribe the 18 year-old rule for any Nigerian child to qualify to engaged into a conscious agreement of marriage.

The Senates claimed that a woman is deemed to be full of age once she is married irrespective of her age.

The Proponents or supporters of the under-age marriage rule includes Senator Yerima Ahmad Sani, Zamfara West, who claimed that the provision which stipulates a certain age for women before getting married, was at variance with Islamic law.

After a moment of controversy, Senate President David Mark asked his colleagues to vote afresh on the provision, a situation that eventually went in favour of Sani, who, thereafter, thanked the Senate president and his colleagues for supporting his cause.

It is worthy of note that Senator Yerima Ahmad Sani had two years ago married a 13-year-old Egyptian in violation of the constitutional provision.

Illegal street race kills woman and her three sons

A mother and her three young sons have been knocked over and killed during an illegal drag race, Philadelphia police have said. Relatives say 28-year-old Samara Banks and the boys were killed at around 10.30 on Tuesday evening as they crossed a 12-lane city road plagued by pedestrian deaths.

The children were just seven months, 23 months and four-years-old. Ms Banks’ five-year-old son, who was the sole survivor, suffered only bumps and bruises. Police have identified two men facing charges in connection to the fatal crash. Khusen Akhmedov, 23, and Ahmen Holloman, 30, were arrested on Wednesday evening. They face charges including homicide by vehicle, third-degree murder, involuntary manslaughter and other counts. Investigators believe they could well have been drag racing. The driver of the Audi stayed at the scene and consented to a blood test. But witnesses say the car was going extremely fast, giving the victims little time to react.

Woman gets stuck on stairwell during s*x

Police and rescuers had to assist a woman after her head got caught between the railings of a stairwell where she was having sex, Lipetsk, Russia.A neighbor called the police saying he saw the naked woman on her knees in the stairwell unable to free herself.

Rescuers were able to free the woman.Afterwards it emerged that she had engaged in consensual sex with her partner on the stairwell, the report said.It was not clear why her partner left her stranded.

“In all my time working as a rescuer, I don’t recall seeing any incident like this one,” rescuer Alexei Dotsenko.
