Boy, 3, dies after being left in car while parents attended funeral

A little boy is dead after his parents left him locked inside a car while they were attending a family funeral, according to police reports in Florida.Police of Manatee County said that they are investigating the death of the 3-year-old boy, who was left in a car for
three hours on Saturday.

Kyrese Dwayne Anderson was accidentally left in the car on Saturday afternoon while his parents thought he was with a nanny, authorities said. The parents had driven separately to the funeral in order to drop off their children at the babysitter’s house in the 2700 block of 5th Avenue before going to the funeral.

The parents thought that all children were dropped off at the babysitter, authorities said.
After the funeral, at about 4:20 pm, they discovered that the child was still in the car and called an ambulance.
The family is from Lehigh Acres and was in town for the funeral, officials said.

An autopsy showed that the boy died after suffering from abnormally high body temperature. No charges have been filed at this time against the parents, Robert Anderson, 29, and Amanda Jo Anderson, 30.
